Diagnostic discs OPT are designed for preliminary identification of Streptococcus pneumoniae on base of its sensitivity to optochin.

Test description:

Diagnostic discs OPT with content of 5 µg optochin are designed for preliminary identification of Streptococcus pneumoniae on base of its sensitivity to optochin. Streptococcus pneumoniae is sensitive to optochin diffused around disc, where it creates defined inhibition zone against to other α-haemolytic streptococci, which are more resistant.
